| Job Title: Recycling Coordinator - West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority |

| The West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority is a local government agency that serves West Contra Costa County. Our main charge is to oversee compliance with California State Mandate AB939 which requires reduction of solid waste going to landfill. We also provide public education and programs promoting recycling, re use, source reduction and composting.

Jobs duties include but are not limited to:Coordinate and assist in managing the school recycling program activities such as field trips, classroom presentations, waste reduction programs, audits, and workshops. Manage production of school newsletter and other outreach material, grant writing, manage compost and business recycling hotlines, represent the agency at fairs, festivals, and other public events. Distribute recycling containers and various public education materials to schools, businesses, residents, and other public agencies. Assist with composting education program and compost workshops.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Interest & experience in environmental issues, experience working with students K-12 and/or outdoor settings, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to priortize tasks, computer experience with MSWord,Excel, & Access, ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs, valid CDL license with good driving record and proof of insurance. High school grad or equivalent with college coursework in one or more of the following: environmental studies, resource management, education or public administration. BA degree preferred, but not required. |
